Dispatch: A Northern Spin

Bangui Windmill Wonders (Olympus E-PL1, Zuiko 40-150mm) It was a tiring day but rewarding. It wasn’t really on the original plan but being touristy with the rest of the family and new friends was a welcome spin up north. Upon the request of my sister’s friend to visit their house in Laoag, we were fetched from Vigan and then toured some sites up on Ilocos Norte . Like I said, it was tiring but fun, especially when you see people enjoying the sights along with you.

Dispatch: Crisologo in Mono

Calle Crisologo in Mono (Olympus PEN E-PL1, Grainy B+W Art Filter) I can’t remember the last time I went to Vigan . It’s still a nice place after all these years and coming in an off-peak season means less crowd. The north is such a great place to back to once in a while. And I’ll be here for the next few days for some light sightseeing.

Dispatch: NAIA Old Domestic Fiery Sunset Sky

NAIA Old Domestic Airport Sunset We landed back in Manila to be greeted with this amazing sunset skies at the Old NAIA Domestic Airport . I can’t help but  reach for the nearest point and shoot I had at that time. It’s hard not to miss this one even if the airport traffic control is calling our attention to clear the tarmac for the approaching plane ready to tax. It was a great weekend at Puerto Princessa Palawan but it’s time for a day’s rest for a road trip this time.

Dispatch: Feet, Fish and Feeds

Snake Island Fish Feeding I didn’t take as much pictures as I usually do for this day. I just simply enjoyed my time Island Hopping around Honda Bay, Palawan and didn’t feel any pressure to produce any photos. Sometimes it’s great to not to worry about photography for a while.

Dispatch: Launch into the Iwahig Fireflies Tour

Iwahig Fireflies Launch Port at the 120 years old balete tree (Olympus E-PL1 14-42mm) Am back in Puerto Princesa, Palawan again and this time it’s to spend my long weekend birthday with family. Especially with my sister back in the country from Canada for a few weeks. We just got back at a wonderful 3km Firefly tour at Iwahig. It was so wonderful and educational that I would highly recommend it. Best time is December and January when the weather is chilly.

Field Test: Design Go's Weigh to Go Luggage Scale

Design Go Weigh To Go I may travel a lot but I also encounter some packing blunders such as overweight and underweight luggage when I’m not backpacking. I remember when I got really stressed out in Singapore Airport as I was relying on sharing my excess baggage weight with my companions, to find out it can’t be done since I have a separate ticket. I had to make adjustments on my luggage by removing items and weighing several times just to get it right. I certainly don’t want to pay the SG$15/kg excess baggage fee.

Exposure: UAAP 73 Beach Volleyball

Pau Soriano of Adamson ready to serve (Olympus E-3 DSRL, Zuiko 70-300mm f4-5.6) My Olympus E-3 DSLR has taken the back seat for a while since I had my Olympus PEN E-PL1 . I thought I bring out for some much needed exercise. For speed, I would still prefer a DSLR for its faster frame rate. I must admit, it’s nice to hold this solid camera block again even for a while. While I still prefer the PEN for it’s weight and compactness, the E-3 is still a powerhouse for some serious work.
