Field Test | Huawei Honor 6: Honorable yet Affordable

It’s been more than a month since my unboxing of the Huawei Honor 6 smartphone . Since then, a lot has happened from the company. They have recently announced its bigger brother Honor 6+ and its little brother Honor 4C . Even if Honor 6 came out in the Philippines late last year, it is still one of the compelling offers on the mid-priced sub–15,000 smartphone. In Lazada, it has also slashed some price since the release of their new smartphones to be more competitive. I’ve had the phone for more than three months now and I could say I have full tested the phone during my travels in Palawan, Cebu, Negros and Masbate. Here’s my take on the Honor 6 smartphone.

Oceana Philippines World Oceans Day Exhibit on TaƱon Strait

“Where is TaƱon Strait?” I asked a friend when he told me about the project. I’m sure I share the same sentiments with other Filipinos who have no common knowledge of TaƱon Strait which happens to be the largest marine protected area in the Philippines bounded by two islands Negros and Cebu. I was invited to be one of the photographers for the Oceana Photo Safari on TaƱon Strait together with underwater photographers Gutsy Tuason and Danny Ocampo , travel photographer Oggie Ramos, chief news photographer of Cebu News Daily Tonee Despojo and chief photographer of the Freeman, Ferdinand Edralin . For six straight days the group captured the beauty and bounty of TaƱon Strait above and underwater. And this recent World Oceans Day , June 8, 2015, Oceana Philippines hosted a photographic exhibit showcasing images captured during the photo safari.

Audio | Marshall Major Pitch Black Review

I normally don’t go with on-ear headphones when I travel since they tend to be huge and a space hog. But since I got an Urbanears Tanto before (which was already discontinued), I didn’t mind since it was light yet has really distinguishable sound quality. Unfortunately, that one got lost in one of my trips. Then a Marshall Major FX landed on my hands as a christmas gift. Who am I to refuse such a good looking headphones? I still have my portable earphones with me but I managed to use this on my travels as well. Marshall already has the latest Major II model out but the classic Major, considered as the original is still widely available.
