Dispatch: Singapore lights and a night of glitz and glamour at the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards

Marine Barrage, Singapore (Olympus E-P1) I’m finally back in Manila. I was in Singapore for almost 11 days. And funny when I was there, I usually explore the famed country in the afternoon welcoming the evening. Witnessing the day break and greeted by Singapore’s majestic lights by night. I like the city, a bit expensive but surprisingly unique as it says. But beyond that there are seldom seen sights in the island I was able to explore which I will soon be chronicling on Ironwulf.net .

Now Onboard: Seair Inflight Oct-Nov 2009

Seair Inclight Oct-Nov Cover We’re on the last quarter of the year and things have been happening pretty fast. Seair Inflight’s October-November 2009 edition revisits the wonders of Baguio, explored the paranormal places in the Philippines and gives account to first time Open Water diver in Boracay. Again, I was lucky enough to be able to grace and contribute to the pages of the magazine for the Baguio features. Check them out when you fly Seair anytime soon. Check out the editorial note below. Issue Contents: As a child I sometimes spent holidays with my mother in my aunt’s farmhouse in Antique, on the west coast of Panay Island, just a few hours away from Iloilo and Caticlan. I remember the house had a huge kitchen, a stone oven, and an equally huge wooden table where my 12 cousins and I had our meals away from the adults, who dined in a separate grown-up room.

Olympus E-P1 Diary Part 1: Shooting Stills and Videos at Concerts and Events

Fort Canning Concert grounds at F1 Rocks @ Singapore (14-42mm Kit Lens, f4.4, ISO 1600) On my first stint with the Olympus E-P1 , I find myself in situations where I have to shoot concerts and events. That means I had to shoot in low-light and high ISO most of the time. I know and many other Four Thirds critics that this is Olympus’ Achilles Heel. First off, this is not meant to be an extensive field test review but practical and real world use of the camera on what possibly most people would use every day.

Now Onboard: Jetstar Asia Magazine Oct-Nov 2009

Jetstar Asia Mag Oct-Nov 2009 I haven’t really tried flying Jetstar yet but if you are, the October-November 2009 issue of Jetstar Asia Magazine , the airline’s inflight magazine, is already onboard. It has a nice feature on Manila’s Intramuros by Kalesa . I was lucky enough to get a commission shoot for one of the required photos, the food and interiors of the Kuatro Kantos CafĆ© . There were other requirements to shoot but the Photo Editor knew it was nearly impossible to shoot in Manila that time due to the heavy rains and the tight requirement so indoor it is.
