Unboxing the Sony Alpha A550 DSLR

Sony Alpha A550 DT 18-55mm Kit Contents The year 2009 has been ground breaking for digital cameras. Every manufacturer seems to be putting out new features and technology that are changing the way people do photography. Sony was able to contribute to this growing technology by introducing their EXMOR R sensor . Sony Philippines was generous enough to give me a chance to play around with two of their recent cameras and both uses the new sensor technology EXMOR R with new BIONZ Processing engine. And the first up is their Sony Alpha A550 .

Batanes on PrimeDrug Calendar 2010

There was a time I would look at calendars and admire the photos there. I would skim through the pages and enjoy looking at the pictures. There was even a time I kept a calendar past its marked year because I enjoyed the photos that much. Anyways, I finally got a chance to be on a calendar. I don’t know the pharmaceutical brand (I heard  PrimeDrug is a subsidiary of a German Brand) but I’m happy still that they liked the photo and used it. My photo of Batanes opens at the start of the year in January 2010. I hope that harkens good vibes for the coming year, 2010.

Singapore Underground

Singapore Orchard Road Underground (Olympus E-P1, 17mm M.Zuiko f2.8, ISO 200, 1/6sec, Pinhole) Singapore and sanitation seems to go together in this little country. Above the streets everything seems normal. Most well to do people walking around and shopping. But life here is not all that dandy, the cost of living is high that some people can’t keep up. They don’t have greased homeless people like here in the Philippines but there are people in Singapore who are trying to survive by alms under the street.

I was able to contribute to their Filipino Christmas feature with a couple of photos on Simbang Gabi . Here are their captions.

5th Gen Nano, the iPod with Video Recording and FM Radio

The new iPod Nano 5th Gen Among the iPod lines, it seems that the Nano, which sits in the middle of the pack had made some drastic changes both in shape and features. Now here comes the 5 th Generation iPod Nano and built into it are new features like the Video Recording and the FM Radio which are not yet present in the current generations of iPods. Apple Philipines distributor was kind enough to send in a test unit to play around with for a while. I took the Nano up on a long road trip up north to rough it out in the Ifugao Mountains .
