Now Onboard: Seair Inflight Feb-March 2010

Inflight Feb-March 2010

So what’s your favorite beach? 10 travelers were asked that question and here they share their sweet spots under the sun. Also included in Seair Inflights February-March 2010 Issue are features on Batanes and Vigan. There’s also some interesting bits information on what three popular tour guides, Ivan Man Dy, Carlos Celdran and Yael love about Manila. As for me, I was able to contribute to some images again for some spreads. Check out some pages on this issue now on board each Seair InFlight.

Batanes on PrimeDrug Calendar 2010

Batanes on PrimeDrug 2010 Calendar

There was a time I would look at calendars and admire the photos there. I would skim through the pages and enjoy looking at the pictures. There was even a time I kept a calendar past its marked year because I enjoyed the photos that much. Anyways, I finally got a chance to be on a calendar. I don’t know the pharmaceutical brand (I heard  PrimeDrug is a subsidiary of a German Brand) but I’m happy still that they liked the photo and used it.

My photo of Batanes opens at the start of the year in January 2010. I hope that harkens good vibes for the coming year, 2010.

On Assignment: So how do you shoot a ghost?

Misty Morning at Dominican Hill

Misty Morning at Dominican Hill

It seemed a daunting task but I took on the assignment with much gusto as delving into the paranormal intrigues me. Seair Inflight wanted to feature Baguio’s famous haunts for its October-November Issue. There was research done on the famous and not so famous spots. But as with any ghost stories it’s a question on how would you catch anything that isn’t corporeal. Let alone a question of belief if they do exist.

Jetstar Asia Magazine Oct-Nov 2009

Jetstar Asia Mag Oct-Nov 2009

I haven’t really tried flying Jetstar yet but if you are, the October-November 2009 issue of Jetstar Asia Magazine, the airline’s inflight magazine, is already onboard. It has a nice feature on Manila’s Intramuros by Kalesa. I was lucky enough to get a commission shoot for one of the required photos, the food and interiors of the Kuatro Kantos Café. There were other requirements to shoot but the Photo Editor knew it was nearly impossible to shoot in Manila that time due to the heavy rains and the tight requirement so indoor it is.

Project: A Primer on Forest and Climate Change

Cover for the Primer Klima at Kagubatan: Ang Pagbabago ng Panahon

Primer Cover Klima at Kagubatan: Ang Pagbabago ng Panahon

One of the projects I consider really worthwhile doing recently was to shoot images for an environmental Non-Government Organization (NGO). Nature and environment means so much to me that if there is any advocacy I would really support firsthand, it’s Nature, Wildlife and Environmental conservation. That’s why I was excited to take up this project from groups like Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), and Non-Timber Forest Product (NTFP).

My task for this project was to document how carbon trading measurements are done at the forest of Imugan, Nueva Vizcaya and how the town use their natural resources to produce organic products and goods to sell for their livelihood. The forest of Imugan in Nueva Vizcaya which is under the Kalahan Ancestral Domain is the first one in the country to implement the methods of REDD (Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation) and are involved in Carbon Trading
