AirAsia Philippines and ThinkDharma Inc, the official Nikon Digital Camera distributor in the Philippines collaborate for the first AirAsia Travel Photographer 2015 contest. Starting today, 21st of July, 2015, four pre-selected contenders of different career backgrounds with little to no knowledge of photography will fly to four different AirAsia international destinations each and will be coached by four Nikon Pros. The objective is to compile a photo set of images under categories of portrait, food, landscape, architecture and a 9-photo collage story. Each contender’s photo set will be up at www.airasiatravelphotographer.com for public voting starting August 20, 2015. Winners will be announced September, 11, 2015.

I thought this was a nice project collaboration for AirAsia and Nikon but they kinda left out an essential detail to make this very interesting. The selection process for the contenders were not clear or given. Who are these four contenders and why were they pre-selected? What were the criteria for selection?
