iPearl mCover Hard Shell for MacBook Protection

There are laptops but there are Apple MacBooks. The people at Apple took pains to create this simple yet sleek looking design. Not to sound like a fan boy but people pay also for the design aside from the functionality. While it looks fashionably good out there and bare, MacBooks can easily get scratched. For a guy like me who likes to rough it out when I travel and slip the MacBook on my backpack sleeve, my MacBook does need an extra protection. I decided to use a shell case for that extra layer of protection and looking around for some options I decided to try the iPearl mCover Hard Shell. After more than a month of using it, here’s what I can share.

Chilling at the beach on my Lagu Beach Towel

Summer has just started so there’s still time to get this awesome Lagu Beach Towel! So what’s so special about them?

  • It’s sand repellant! (aside from getting those annoying sand on your clothes and stuff it helps preserve the sands on the beach, leaving them where they belong)
  • It’s quick dry! (very convenient especially for packing)
  • It’s allergen free (Personally it doesn’t itch on the skin)
  • It’s proudly Philippine Made! (love our local products!)

The Tempur Travel Pillow and Sleep Mask

Traveling can take a toll physically especially on long journeys. When I find myself coming in on a destination from a long transit, I allow myself time to recharge so when I explore a destination I would have a clear head and more alert with my surroundings. One sure way to get the energy back is to have a quality sleep but that’s not always easy adapting to a new environment or you’re in company who have a different lighting preference with you while you sleep. Tempur Philippines recently introduced me on some of their accessories to make sleep a lot more comfortable.

Tempur in the Philippines had me try a couple of their Travel Accessories namely the Travel Pillow and the Sleep Mask. I already know the reputation of Tempur when it comes to pillows and and mattresses. Hey it’s the only way one can try NASA and Space Foundation certified products on a regular consumer basis. Moleskine Mini-Sticker Icons!

My 18-month Moleskine with sticker icons
My 18-month Weekly Notebook Diary Moleskine with sticker icons

Call me old-fashioned but despite having a digital calendar on my smartphone, I still use use my trusty Moleskines to refer to past trips and also for those random notes I jot down on the road.

I recently got my new 18-months Weekly Notebook/Diary Moleskine, and having used these legendary notebook for years already, it’s a delightful surprise to see that they now added those fine looking icon stickers to label the pages. The graphical icons were really neatly designed. I guess with so many imitator and competitors now for that handy notebook they need to add something new. And I liked it!

I just got back from Hong Kong. It was my first time there and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Along with me, I took along Design Go’s Travel Wallet which I complimentary got from Primer. I’m not really an organizer-kind of guy and would just keep my documents in zip locks so it was also my first time to try out using an organizer on a trip.

Field Test: Design Go’s Weigh to Go Luggage Scale

Design Go Weigh To Go
Design Go Weigh To Go

I may travel a lot but I also encounter some packing blunders such as overweight and underweight luggage when I’m not backpacking. I remember when I got really stressed out in Singapore Airport as I was relying on sharing my excess baggage weight with my companions, to find out it can’t be done since I have a separate ticket. I had to make adjustments on my luggage by removing items and weighing several times just to get it right. I certainly don’t want to pay the SG$15/kg excess baggage fee.
