My Olympus E-3 DSLR has taken the back seat for a while since I had my Olympus PEN E-PL1. I thought I bring out for some much needed exercise. For speed, I would still prefer a DSLR for its faster frame rate. I must admit, it’s nice to hold this solid camera block again even for a while. While I still prefer the PEN for it’s weight and compactness, the E-3 is still a powerhouse for some serious work.

I’ve have recently reacquainted myself with my enjoyment with volleyball. With the V-league and upcoming UAAP, why not put my photography to good use and engage into Sports Photography. Here are my first few attempts to capture some action on this morning’s Beach Volleyball game using the Olympus E-3 and the 70-300mm Zuiko Lens. Features teams from DLSU, FEU, ADU and UST.

We’re just closing the 2nd day our Backpack Photography Lake Sebu Photo Tour. Lake Sebu continues to mesmerize even on the 2nd time around. There are some big changes so far most of them are good. We also delved deeper into the T’Boli Culture this time around which made me appreciate them more. Here’s a snap portrait shot of the living Philippine National Treasure, Lang Dulay, a famous Dreamweaver. A few more days here in the south.

Olympus PEN Workshop held last July 31, 2010

Last Saturday July 31, 2010, Olympus Philippines had its first Olympus PEN Workshop at Max’s Restaurant at Shaw Boulevard, Puregold. There has been a growing interest for the mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras like the Micro Four Thirds which Olympus is a part of. And to spread the awareness of the availability of the system, Olympus Philippines is conducting a series of workshops on photography.

I was the first speaker in line to talk about My PEN Experience with the Olympus PEN which I had been using for more than a year on how I incorporate the advantages of the system to my style of Travel Photography and also some insights into my field of work.

Jay Alonzo, the first Olympus Endorser and also one of the well known Photography instructors in the country shared some useful insights and concepts on the technical side on his topic Creative Photography.

In between, participants were able to try out the new PEN cameras like the Olympus E-PL1 and E-P1 and were served some snacks and dinner.

Fiesta Casino Card Games (Olympus E-PL1, 14-42mm, Pinhole)

So I had my hands on some card games this morning at the Fiesta Casino, Thunderbird Poro Point Resort. It was a clean, money-less familiarization card games of Baccarat and Blackjack. It was fun, especially when I find myself on a winning streak. Now I know how it feels why some people get addicted to this games. It’s either yo continue your wins or try to recover your loss in this game of chance. It was interesting that I hope my stack of chips were really worth something. So I’m home now after a 6 hour ride. But not is all well at home as I recieved some unfortunate news. I hope things turn out okay though.
