Old Spanish Town is the least I could expect to see here in the south, Saranggani area.  In Glan there are a few heritage houses worth visiting. We admired the designs and never thought there’s a heritage sight found here. Another pleasant surprise in the area of Saranggani.

Dusk at Gumasa (Olympus PEN E-PL1, Zuiko 9-18mm)

Backpack Photography Lake Sebu is over and I along with participants head off to Saranggani for some rest and relaxation. Gumasa beach is lovely, the sand is really powder white from where we are billeted. Not too many resorts and is still years behind development. It’s a perfect place to do nothing.

We’re just closing the 2nd day our Backpack Photography Lake Sebu Photo Tour. Lake Sebu continues to mesmerize even on the 2nd time around. There are some big changes so far most of them are good. We also delved deeper into the T’Boli Culture this time around which made me appreciate them more. Here’s a snap portrait shot of the living Philippine National Treasure, Lang Dulay, a famous Dreamweaver. A few more days here in the south.

Fiesta Casino Card Games (Olympus E-PL1, 14-42mm, Pinhole)

So I had my hands on some card games this morning at the Fiesta Casino, Thunderbird Poro Point Resort. It was a clean, money-less familiarization card games of Baccarat and Blackjack. It was fun, especially when I find myself on a winning streak. Now I know how it feels why some people get addicted to this games. It’s either yo continue your wins or try to recover your loss in this game of chance. It was interesting that I hope my stack of chips were really worth something. So I’m home now after a 6 hour ride. But not is all well at home as I recieved some unfortunate news. I hope things turn out okay though.

Luna Watchtower, La Union (Olympus E-PL1 9-18mm Zuiko)

The day was a lot kinder to us. It was bright and sunny that we were able to take golf carts around Thunderbird Resort Poro Point and go around La Union. There were lots of interesting spots in the area, like a couple of heritage sights, a beautiful botanical garden, a temple and an interesting halo-halo place. The afternoon as expected came with a downpour but we were happy enough to roam around.

Stormy Santorini (Olympus PEN E-PL1, Art Filter Grainy BW)

It’s a stormy afternoon here in Poro Point La Union despite leaving Manila in full daylight. It’s the habagat season. I hope we get better weather tomorrow.

Mangrove Morning Light (Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Olympus E-PL1, 9-18mm Zuiko)

I’m currently here on a tour in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. We had a stunning morning at the mangrove beach fronting Microtel. We’ll be going around the area until Sunday.
