Olympus PEN E-PL2 is in the Philippines

The much awaited Olympus PEN E-PL2 has officially reached the shores of the Philippines and is now available at major camera stores. The E-PL2 has garnered a lot of praise from photo reviews and critics. I’ve been using this silver variant for more than a week now and is liking the new design which is like a cross between the E-Px and E-PL1 line. Will be posting my field test impressions and sample photos in a few weeks. In the meantime the single lens kit with the version 2 of the 14-42mm kit lens has an SRP of  P33995 while the two lens kit with the 14-42mm and the new M.Zuiko version of the 40-150mm kit has an SRP of P39995. It comes in colors of black, white silver and red.

    Hi, Ferdz,

    Any suggetions for the best store in Metro Manila to get some Olympus m43rds gear? Planning on getting the E-PL2 as well, but I wanted to check out the Oly 9-18mm and the 14-150mm as well. Cheers and thanks.

    hi sir,

    i have been waiting for this camera I am an olypian user since my first camera and now I am using my bridge SP – 570 but friends are telling me to go up one more level and I chose to do it with the EPl – 2, well can you just send me the name of the stores that already has this product so I will get one myself and you have wonderful shots…

    Hi. I have a 40K budget and I’m torn between buying the E-PL3 with 14-42mm lens or the older E-PL2 with 2 kit lenses. What do you suggest sir? In terms of image quality magkalayo ba? What other features would set these two apart? I’ve read the dpreview but am interested in your opinion.

      Hi Jasper! Image quality isn’t far apart, I guess the advantage of the E-PL3 is it’s new faster Autofocus and tilting screen whereas E-PL2 still have the built in flash with it.

      for 40k you can already buy the E-P3 haha. But seriously the price of EPL3 is only 29k so you can also buy the zoom 40-150mm for 11k I think. If you can find it, the E-PL2 has dropped price as well for 24k for a kit. Getting a doube zoom kit is really flexible in use.
