Also Maggie Franciso takes us “Back to Marcos Country” for a tour of Ilocos and an Ins and Outs feature on Marinduque. More indulge features like Umu for you. The Canon PowerShot S90

Small is the next big thing when it comes to digital cameras nowadays. When Panasonic made a hit with their advance compact LUMIX LX3, camera manufacturers saw the demand for a small pocketable camera boasting high image quality. Canon a few months ago revived their PowerShot S-line when they released their top of the line compact G11. Sporting a similar sensor and Digic processor as the G11, the new Canon PowerShot S90 is smaller and more compact. I was able to take this camera on a test drive when I went for a two vacation and here’s my long overdue quick hands-on impression on the S90.

It’s time again I do both the writing and photography chores on assignment in PAL’s Mabuhay Magazine May 2010 issue. And it’s great that it’s on a familiar place in Mindoro which is San Jose. Last time I went there on assignment, I covered the islands, scenic beaches and also the cultural and indigenous aspects of the region. This time around I delved deeper into the country’s history as it celebrates its 100 years and discovered the significance of MacArthur’s “Second Landing” that led to the country’s liberation.
